The Conservancy also aims to protect threatened forests by encouraging consumers to buy wood and paper products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, essentially a guarantee that forest ecosystems have been protected even as the wood is harvested.

Working with businesses to produce greener products is another strong push within the Conservancy. So is forging

partnerships with businesses to support the Conservancy’s environmental programs worldwide.

“These partnerships are very important,” says Elizabeth Ward, director of marketing communications for the Conservancy. “The opportunity for us collectively to make a difference has never been stronger.” As to the recent partnership with Organic Style, Jackie Held, the Conservancy’s manager of marketing partnerships, notes, “For us this one is especially effective, as both our groups have a similar mission: to protect our natural habitat.” 0
