She grows some of her own produce and also composts. “I just go clothesline last year, so I can save energy that way too,” she adds.
Newman points to outdoor clothing and gear retailer Patagonia as a company she’d like to emulate. “Their commitment as a company goes beyond philanthropy. They use 100 percent organic cotton.
